I met Denver at the Stamps School of music when I was 10 years old, I am now 80. I fell in love with him then and he and Jake Hess were the kindest men It has EVER been my privilege To know. I have seen and heard every concert I could ever afford to get too, if they were to be ther. Denvers voice was as unique as was Jakes. But their love of God was what made them special. Hopefully I will see them soon. Thank you guy's for the pathway to heaven.
thank you so much for posting this. it is one of the greatest tributes to my cousin that i have ever seen. it meens a lot to me that he is remembered so well. God bless you.
I agree with you. Denver Crumpler made the definitive tenor recording of this song. His voice was as flawless as any I have ever heard. He showed off all of his vocal talents in this recording and yet drew the listener's attention to every lyric. Still, if you would like to hear another amazing version of this wonderful song, I would recommend Mahalia Jackson's recording. Regrettably, I never had the chance to hear either of them live, but I sure look forward to meeting them someday!

A gospel standard called My God Is Real. This may be the definitive version.
