I'm doing some on-screen, real-life improvisation on "Red Haired Boy" to show you how I'd come up with rough ideas that I might later come back to and nail down. From my Y2K instructional video.

    Could you help me out with this--or otherwise point me in a direction that might help. Can't get the figering figured out at the first part where you set the melody. Hoping my fingers will accidently find it, but not yet! Need it a little slower.

  • Put Red Haired Boy in the search box and find the video by "ludwigtrap". He's playing it a little different, but we both have the same key notes.

  • Glad to be of help. As you can see, the idea here is to "just play", see what comes out, and then go back and chase those ideas down and refine them.
