This song is still taught to elementary school kids today. It dates from 1917 and the music was composed by Lee S. Roberts.

It is played here as a piano duet with Carl Sonny Leyland (right) and Marty Eggers.

Recorded Sunday 12 August 2007 at the 9th annual Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival.

  • Now I know where this song is from. I heard in the CBS documentary World War I--narrated by Robery Ryan. The song was in the episode "Tipperary And All That Jazz", and it's my favorite from there.

  • Thank you for keeping my Great Grandpa Lee's music alive :)
