  • Cardboard boxes are useful for so many things. I love being in my greenhouse. It's like your own private world and no one can get to you. You can be left in peace and quiet. I hope that someone bought you lots of cups of tea with all that hard digging.

  • @clairesallotment I agree that it's a great place to go when you need some space from the crazy world that we live in today!

Nobody was at home to fetch me tea or anything while I was working on that bed! Daniel would have brought me something had he been there though!

  • Chuck, I've done sq. ft. gardening for several yrs. I can tell you first hand... mixing those ingredients is the worse part. ha

  • @bradgray51 Yeah Brad, I don't normally plant in raised beds but the success that people like yourself have demonstrated make it impossible to ignore. I use containers every year but this is a first for me with the raised bed!

  • Looks good mine is still growing good hear on the east coast but I suspect I will have a killing frost long before you do.

  • @dalecalder2003 I can work around a few early frosts with heaters in the greenhouse but when it gets really cold for long stretches I'll loose the summer plants.

  • Try mixing on a tarp next time... much, much easier! (larger amounts as well) You may want to check out our video on mixing your items together... if you want to of course. -Randy

  • @cfenster What a good lad he is. May be you could take a flask of tea, and a packet of biscuits. If I did that, I'd never get any work done.

  • @cfenster I agree, that mention by Donald was pretty special. I've come a long ways ! ;-) Ya might need to cut back on the peppers a bit, LOL. No sense having a sauce that ya can't eat. I get the growbags from discount - hydro dot com. Never had any trouble with those folks.

  • @mhpgardener I agree on both counts.. I spend lots of money on soil and organic material every year since our soil here is so poor!

Hey... kudos on the recognition from the big guy on the bayou! Donald really tooted the Virginia boy's horn this month! IMHO that is a real honor!

BTW... Those "Red Hot Cherry Bombs" make the hot sauce almost too hot! :)

Where do you get your grow bags? I cant find them around here?

  • Thats pretty cool Chuck. Whatever it takes to extend the season. Its surprising just how many bags it takes to fill a bed or containers.
