Howard Dean went on Fox News Sunday and accused anyone who discusses Reverend Wright of race baiting.

Accusing people on things like this of racism just for discussing people with different skin color is a tactic designed to try and silence the debate.

The issue with Wright is not so much his skin color or Obama's skin color but how Wright and possibly Obama look at people with different skin tones than their own.

Dean is surely smart enough to know this but he suggests it is race baiting anyway to try and scare people into silence on the issue.

This is dishonest and dangerous. He is in essence accusing Republicans of thought crime when he has not been above making race an issue himself.

It is sad that characters like Dean succeed in politics. It is sad that this is the country we have been stuck with by his generation.

  • We have thousands of years of history to look back on. Our scientific and technological advances have vastly improved our world. Yet, human nature has stayed pretty much the same.

I believe that maybe in a thousand years of more when every person in the world is free of want, and lives a descent life, we will spend much of our time educating ourselves and becoming much better human beings. who care for others and want to live in peace.

But I think it is a long way off.

  • You know, I thought about it and you are right, so what? So what man so what...

Only fools would think we should demand better. So what do we do now that we can stop caring?

    Or...

Money doesn't control everything, some science is independent some local politics doesn't go with the person with the biggest purse and sometimes the people beat the system as we did with the Dubai Ports deal and McCain's Amnesty.

    So that is what.

When people have had enough, things change. That is what.

  • I definitely know that the candidates that are left are far from the best this country can offer. My point is that money controls everything in the business world, entertainment, sports, religion, academia, science, economics, and whatever else you can think of. Again I say SO WHAT. So it is now, so it was in the past, so it will always be.

  • Nothing if you think the people left in this race are the best we have to chose from then there is no problem. If on the other hand you look at the choices that are left and you find them lacking and wonder how we got to this pint then it matters a great deal.

  • Money is why a lot of anything happens in this world , so what ?

  • It comes down to who can raise money. That is why Dean is head of the DNC and largely why anyone gets their party nomination.

Money is why a lot of politics happens the way it does.

  • Guess you must be very smart.

I have no idea what your reply is supposed to mean. I understand the first one, but I have no idea what you mean by the second.

  • Two things,

If the damage is not deep perceptions can be changed

And as always, the check cleared.

  • Dean made several missteps telling a potential voter to "sit down you had your say now I'm going to have mine"

Dean was already perceived by voters in Iowa as a hot head and a jerk. Perception is everything and that more than anything lead to his third place finish. Remember or look back he was supposed to win Iowa but he came in third before the scream.

It's like Nixon sweating on camera, people don't like certain behavior or imagery.

Now he tries to set the agenda by dealing race cards.

  • The democrats lost the 2004 election with John Kerry. How is being overly enthusiastic in a campaign the downfall of a candidate ?

Was he not supposed to want to win ?

I do agree that he is wrong about race baiting. And the Willie Horton ad was true, so why shouldn't the american people have all facts available to them ?

Rev. Wright's remarks are reported accurately, and Obama's explanations are incredulous, not withstanding his recent denunciation of his pastor of 20years.
