Video Vending Machine - Interactive Installation Art

Video Vending Machine is an interactive video installation about Consumption preference and new experience of a perspective upon the basic unit of videos.

In this vending machine, sequences of pixels are the goods. After inserting coins, people can select one of the movies clips out of 20. One of the pixel sequences from the selected movie will be removed from the video. And then, there will be two instant outputs from the device. The first one is a printed card, which can be folded up to be a pixel cube, and the color of the pixel cube is referring to the sequences of pixels. The second output is a color animation of the selected pixel sequence that can be checked out on the website of the Video Vending Machine. The checked out path will be printed on the card once, so that only the buyer of the sequences of pixels can check out the color animation on the web with that path.

錄像自動售貨機是一件互動新媒體錄像裝置藝術作品。這作品將錄像顯示的基本單位還原至一連串的像素／映像點（pixel）作為貨品出售。它嘗試窺探消費文化，研究以錄像的­基本單位作為獨立貨物的經濟價值，同時亦為購買數碼產品帶來新的經驗。

人們可以透過投入硬幣購買錄像的像素。付款後，選定的像素串將會從螢幕上的錄像中被永久刪除。 與此同時，裝置會有兩個即時輸出。首先，它會印刷出的明信片，並可以折疊起來成為一個立方體，而該立方體的顏色會依照選定像素串的色系。第二個輸出是一個像素串的色彩動畫­，跟據即時印刷出的咭, 上的獨特的識別符號，投幣者可以從錄像自動售賣機的網站上看到及下載已購得的像素串。
