ASU's student radio Annual live concert and this it's a big line-up of local and national acts all for Charity! This years' headliner: FREEDY JOHNSTON!

Bobby Diablo and Mike Michaels host, as Seth "Dan Marley" joins in and KASR Academic advisor Dr. Leigh joins the festivities! Also the first part of Gayle's interview with Freedy Johnston!

Kasrvnotebook: Freedy Johnston (born 1961) is a New York City-based singer/songwriter originally from Kinsley, Kansas.

Having scored several minor hits since the early 1990s, Johnston's songs are often about troubled loners, and cover topics like heartbreak, alienation and disappointment. Known for the craftsmanship of his songs, he has been described as a "songwriter's songwriter."

Kasrvnotebook2:This year's charity: The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization that grants wishes to children (2.5 years to 18 years old) with life-threatening medical conditions. Make-A-Wish originated in Phoenix, Arizona in 1980, where a seven year old boy, Chris Greicius was hospitalized with leukemia. The Arizona Department of Public Safety, hospital workers and members of the community teamed up and were able to grant his 'wish': to become a police officer for one day. Ample media coverage led to the founding of a permanent charity organization, using Greicius's case as a model.

"Don't expect a lot from this show." Was the unofficial motto of KASR VIDEO, which made a pleasant surprise when we actually knocked out a great show! The program was a weekly 2 hour public access offshoot of the Arizona State University's original alternative radio station that aired in Phoenix. The music video show featured rarely seen videos and "new" music not in the "main stream." Along with non-conventional interviews it became a decent way to nurse a hangover with the midnight party crowd. These clips are edited as a sort of best of; minus the music videos.
