I have a beagle, but we dont tie her up. She does get out the yard sometimes, but she always ends up at our front door. But now my parents are thinking of tying her up because not too long ago, she ran off and got hit by a car. Her pelvis got broken, but its mending perfectly now.

if you tie the length of the rope should atleast be 6 times the length of the dog that way he can still run around and be safe. my beagle is an escapist also.. forcing me to tie him up one hour daily.. but with really long rope and enough grass to smell and roll around in
