This is a video of a job very close to completion in the shop right now. It is an 84 Monte Carlo with a built 400 small block. We built in house the 180 degree suicide door monohinge. This video is with the vehicle just in the mockup phase with the door only having been hung about 20 minutes before the video was done. So if you hear a couple of squeaks, back off, it is in 100% raw fabrication with no bushings or latches or anything else in there. Once complete there will be no squeaks and the door will have a catch spring at 90 and 180 degrees. I will absolutely post another video once it is complete. Hopefully by the weekend. We have already constructed a fiberglass interior for this car and will show that as well. Hope you enjoy.

  • Yes you are probably right, that is why that is not the hinges I use on my cars anymore. I will have a video up very shortly with the completed 180 system.

  • installing suicide doors is not a modification for those who are not skilled fabricators, these 180 doors are even tougher because the structure has to be able to handle the load all the way back without sagging. i am currently working on hinges that i can sell. as of now i make them vehicle specific as per the vehicles in my shop. within the next couple of months i will be most likely releasing several different versions of the 180 hinge, 1 for trucks, 1 for heavy cars, one for light cars.
