Yes is is a nice song relaxedsurfer but you give too much credit to Ricky, there is a much nicer version recorded in 1972 by the group Mother Earth where Tracy Nelson just poured out her heart in making that song a mellow love ballad it is "Rick is credited for lyrics and music to "Sip the Wine" on Rick Danko from 1977. The song first appeared under the title "I Want To Lay Down Beside You" on Tracy Nelson's 1972 album Tracy Nelson / Mother Earth (Reprise MS-2054,) credited to Tim Drummond .

@johnlen3 So did I! It was one of the most haunting, evocative song intros that I've ever heard. I don't know if it was because of the context of the movie, but it just hit me deeply. If ever I can make a movie about a love story, that song intro has to be in it somewhere.

Im a young man and he hit in me in the heart with his vocals such passion all the time god the band was the band but its individuals still make me wheep in the best way.
