Indeed. When I was checking out their site it said "comfort spacing" for five strings. I would want one of the balanced k's but the quote was like 25-30.000! That's a little steep. For that price u could get like 3 spectors that rival these in looks and sound

Sounds like two problems that are easily solved. For the 5 string, you could have specified your own neck dimensions or ordered wider string spacing. Also, as far as the SC being neck heavy, it is very common for Alembic players to move the position of one of the strap buttons. A wider strap could have also helped. Have fun with your Ken Smith, though

They built me a 5 string all purpleheart wood, all they did was squeeze 5 strings on a four string neck, very disappointed, sold the bass for an Alembic Stanley Clarke and traded that for a Ken Smith ( neck was too heavy).

Nice series bass. The string windings at the nut are to long, reduces a clear sound.
