...The REAL world interference generated by SSB is worse . "Hear" the results of improper operation ?. I hear and SEE the results of ignorant ssb operation every evening. "Forgotten Perils" ? SSB operators haven't "forgotten" sorry fact is many never knew. About 60-75% of the AM power is resting dead on frequency as carrier. The remaining power is in the sidebands. Contrast that with virtually 100% of the SSB power going out into one sideband and the mayhem factor expands.

Credit due indeed.. It would be so nice if those seeking to enlighten others would take some time to correct some of the holes in thier own experience.
For example SSB is extremely nasty when driven into non linearity. Any HONEST person with an SDR or spectrum analyzer can spot far more WIDE , nasty SSB signals on any given nightly excursion of the 75 Meter spectrum. Add to that the fact they are dumping ALL of their (often illegal) power into ONE sideband and the real world interence

Cual es el alcance del equipo con 400W Bella maquina!

Credit due for a lot of good work, but many amateurs have "forgotten" the perils of Class C plate modulation, namely that Class C MUST be very well shielded as it's prone to radiating more spurs/ harmonic products, as well as (unlike SSB) the only thing to limit bandwidth is very careful modulator design AND OPERATION, being limited by the audio response of the speech amplifer. Anyone tuning nightly up/ down 75M will hear the poor results of improper AM operation.

Your transmitter looks great. I am working on the design of a 10 meter AM transmitter right now. I have never run AM, so I can not wait to give it a try first hand.

would a hum show up on a scope? i had heard that running a.m. without a scope was like driving at night without headlights.

Very nice! Love that AM audio fidelity! Much better than slopbucket. Hope to get on AM at some point and have a QSO with you. 73 from KJ4GCA.

Yes it controls the HV on the RF deck also
the Modulator tubes.
Maximum voltage is about 2500 volts.
I had a lot of fun buildind the transmitter.
Single Band only 80 metres.
