After 30 years a classic series in childrens television came to an end, as Grange Hill was broadcast for the last time on 15th September 2008. Here we see the final minutes of the programme, in which the writers have made sure the last show was a memorable one.
Set on the last day of term, an unexploded bomb is discovered underneath the school and old favourite Tucker Jenkins, played by Todd Carty, will return to offer current pupils some advice.

As this era comes to an end, feel free to remember and share with us some of your favourite characters and moments.

  • Grange Hill needed to die with it's Hollyoaks format. It used to have gritty viable realisitic storylines but turned into some politically correct left wing liberal crap nightmare.

They should of shot the program while it was still good about 15 years earlier.

  • Seems like half the cast are now in Waterloo Road

  • "politically correct left wing liberal crap nightmare"

Haha. In response to a television programme demonstrating the benefits of a liberal education policy.

  • As soon as it moved away from school life..... to encompass the time away from the school itself.... it turned to crap....

Same thing happened with London's Burning and The Bill..... You put the characters in situations outside of the context of the show.... i.e schooling/education, fire brigade, policing..... and it ceases being a drama, and becomes more of a sitcom.

In the end, the characters become too diluted and the core elements also disappear...

  • Typical of teachers... telling kids to stand still when there's a bomb potentially about to go off! :)

  • Went the same way as Brookie by the looks of things.

  • What a load of PC arsehole

  • @webboffin Agreed

  • Grange Hill lost it after about Series 17. Before that it had some of the greatest characters and storylines ever. Half my school weren't even allowed to watch it...you know it's good when that happens.

  • The fuckin bbc turned it to shit anyway, relocating up north then changing the format entirely. All of a sudden they realised oh this is thoroughly unentertaining so lets axe it. Why bother wasting time making it shit, why didn't they just axe earlier on

  • OMG ITS FINN SHARKEY!!!!!

  • @agfagaevart The BBC to axe to many good show that made a lode for crap in there place.
