Seems like at the 1 minutes mark Steve is playing a chord out of frustration as if he missed a note or two, but all I hear is bass perfection.

I saw Gary Burton's group in I believe 1977 in Newburyport. I had a seat in
a bar right in front of him. He was playing with Mick Goodrick, Steve Swallow
and Joe Lababera. Probably the greatest live jazz I ever heard in person.
They opened with this tune!

Gary Chaffee on drums who was Head of the Percussion Department at Berklee School of music during mid 1970s. He is an amazing educator and one of the finest musicians I've ever known. I was fortunate enough to be on the faculty under his directions and I learned so much from his concepts and playing!

Fantastic! Love this tune. The version on the album 'The New Quartet' is out of this world though. Abraham Laboriel on bass. One of my absolute favorite albums. Thanks for the upload, Sweden.

The Quartet recorded a performance at New York's Bottom Line on 9th Aug 1978 also with Bob Moses on drums.

When I saw this band on 24th May 1978 Bobby Moses played drums.
