@RPenta also in Matthew 20:17-19, Now Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples aside on the road and said to them, "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will deliver Him to death, and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again."
I just give you Scripture, not my opinion. I just agree with what the Bible already says.
-
@RPenta Jesus in Luke 18:32-33 "For He will be delivered to the Gentiles and will be mocked and insulted and spit upon. They will scourge Him and kill Him. And the 3rd day He will rise again." Mark 10:33-34 "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests abd to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and deliver Him to the Gentiles; and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. And the 3rd day He will rise again."

When you say Gentiles killed Jesus, that is a gross and dishonest contradiction of the evidence of the New Testament-the Romans performed that torturing and execution of Jesus at the behest of the "religious machine"--aka the Jewish leaders and their adherents; do you deny that? If so, please state that and when I get a chance I will bury in citations to the NT that will make your empty head spin.
Go ahead; make my day.

@RPenta Read this Robert, "Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace. And do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head. They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones. They have said, "Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more." Psalm 83:1-4. Straight from the WORD of GOD. You are fighting against God rpenta

@RPenta You are catholic? 1] Does the blood of Christ cleanse from ALL sin, or do you atone for your own in purgatory? 2] Are we saved by the grace of Christ, or by following the sacraments? 3] Is the Holy Spirit, Christ's representative on earth, or is it the pope when he puts the fish hat on his head? You haven't answered one question yet, because you don't know the Bible you say you believe in. You just blindly believe your priest. So give me a Scripture that supports your view.
-
Look, dumbbell, I am Catholic, Of couse I believe the Bible--I reject your wretched twisting of the Scriptures--perhaps not to your destruction but that of other people aka the Palestinians.
I don't partially agree with the Council of Jerusalem, since it was the first major Church Council I agree with it; you know I should write a book addressed to Catholics on the heresy and moral abomination of Christian Zionism.
-
@RPenta You agree partially with Acts 15, yet it was gentiles getting into the Church that was being discussed at the council. In Gods economy there just two peoples, Jews & Gentiles. "2nd covenant" would be the Abrahamic covenant in Gen 12.
The Word of God speaks for itself, I merely agree and believe what the Bible says. All 5 covenants are based on Gods faithfulness (Deut 7:9) NOT ON MANKINDS PERFORMANCE. As yet you have not presented 1 verse to support your view, don't you believe God??
-
Your problem is that you are trying to proof text your way through the Bible and your proof texts do not prove what you think they do, because unlike yourself God is logical. Tell me: with whom did God establish the "Second Covenant"? IF you bothered to read the account of the Council of Jerusalem, you will see the subject is not whether "they" would let Gentiles in, but what if any strictures of Jewish ritual observance they would impose.
-
@RPenta I gave you verses from the Bible. Do you believe what God says in His Word? Did you read the verses I referanced? God does not change His mind (Num 23:19, Mal 3:6). scribes-pharasees, the Jewish religious machine Did Not Recognize The Messiah. Yet the common jew heard Jesus gladly (Mark 12:37). Gentiles killed Jesus, just like He said (Luke 18:32-33) In Acts 15 the JEWISH Church had a council to see if they would let the Gentiles in. Respond with verses to support your views. Thankx.
-
I do not know what aberrant variation of Christianity you belong to, but I strongly suggest you stop reading your political ideology into the New Testament. How is Israel still the "apple of God's eye" when it rejected the very Savior the Father sent to fulfill the Covenant He made with Abraham and Moses? You can spend a very interesting and hair raising afternoon reading all the NT passages where Jesus condemns the Scribes and Pharisees.
-
hart & sizer are anti-semite deceivers ..... don't believe what they say. BELIEVE what God says in His Word.
-
@RPenta You said "we view the Church as having superseded historical Israel". Sorry but the catholic & eastern orthodox church is Wrong. God says Israel is not going any where, (Jer 31:35-37) & Israel is the apple of God's eye (Psalm 17:8, Zech 2:8) & the New Covenant is with the house's of Israel & Judah (Jer 31:31, Heb 8-12) God never made a covenant with The Church. Israel was NEVER replaced by The Church. As a Gentile God told you not to be arrogant (Rom 11:17-21) Believe what God says.
-
Many (although not very vocal) Catholics and Eastern Orthodox do not buy into disspensationalism ; we view the Church as having superseded historical Israel certainly after Pentecost; we also view it as a biblical mandate to treat even the stranger with justice and compassion--well, that ain't what Israel is doing to the Palestinians, with American money no less.
Have you not read St. John, Chapter 8--I would not advise trying to read that in a Synogogue?
-
Dr Sizer, why don't you believe the Bible? Don't say you love Jesus, and are a proclaimer of the good news of Jesus Christ of Israel, when you obviously don't believe what the Word of God says.
-
Dear Dr. Rev. Sizer, I am so sorry that you have been slandered by such vile and hate filled individuals. Your faith and calling is above reproach by any individual with seeing eyes and heart. I thank God for your dedication to truth and reconciliation between all God's children.
-
You are obviously not living in the UK to make such evil and libellous statements. You have been reported to YouTube.
-
How can a Christian person believe in the Bible and be against the Jews at the same time?
-
Excellant!!! Thank you for truth!
