  • @TEMPmichaelhansen i just found a record of this in which this song was re edited, remixed, and made into reproduced stereo

  • `Tis cool! I know you weren't arguing. You just mis-read my statement, or maybe I mis-wrote it. I was just adding to the info you already had, just in case you, or the people playing along at home, didn't already know.

    Happy Christmas!! (-:

  • @RedVynil I wasn't arguing with you either. My information is dated, and other sources update us. Thanks :-)!

  • Oh! Yes, that's true, I wasn't arguing with you about it, he DID go into the jewelry business in Texas, I was just telling you that he died of cancer in the early `90's, so, both of them are dead, now. Now that I think of it, they only died about 3 to 5 years apart!

  • @RedVynil well, there is the dr demento box set, limited editiom. It had a boolket. Saying Bill Buchanan went into the diamond business while Dickie Goodman still did his thing. Now that is an update. Thanks...

  • Norm,

Nice that you've found all of these records! Nappy Brown was one of the only ones Jon Goodman didn't know when he asked me to write the list for his book, but my neighbor, Ron, collects R&B and didn't have much trouble at all picking that one out. The one we had the most trouble with was Maybelline! We both knew it was Chuck Berry, but we had no idea which one it was, since they all sound alike. Now, if you want a REAL challenge, I've got a few break-ins that need the titles sussed out.

  • Bill Buchanan died of cancer about 15 years ago.

  • Very well done.

Now if you could just find some way to give John Cameron Cameron (Swayze) some credit.

This is the first cut-in record to hit the charts, but there were many more to come.

I even made one in 1971 for KWUN 1480 in

Concord (I was a DJ), but other than playing

it on my own show, I couldn't sell it to anyone,

that's how common place the cut-in record had become.

  • WOW! First I heard this from the DR DEMENTO SHOW comp, then I got the re issued single, then I got several copies of the original pressing plus other 45's from record swaps, Buchanan went into the diamond business, Goodman still did this...till he comitted suicide November 6, 1989. There was a greates hits by Rhino Records, now OOP. also there is a webpage with this fully 'analyzed' called "DICKIE GOODMAN: WE'VE SPOTTED THE SHARK AGAIN" can be found online.
