This video develops the idea of Cams as a means of achieving a given displacement v/s time function. Evolution of different types is presented in animated form starting from the basic plate cam to achieve acceleration greater than gravity, compactness etc.

  • @sonakshi1513 the "upper curve" of the cam curve pulls the roller and the rod downwards if the speed of the roller is so great that the gravitational acceleration is not enough to make the rod and roller fall in sync with the cam's curve. i hope i was clear enough.

  • sir help me to understand how is acceleration more than gravity achieved in case of plate cam.
