Glazing process:

Faux finishing cabinets involves extensive preparation of all surfaces, light sanding. Most hardware is removed and everything is spray painted with a strong, oil based primer. After they have been scrupulously prepped a custom mixed base-coat is applied. Many of the faux finish layers that happen after the base coat are made from oil-base urethanes, creating a strong, washable surface.

  • Forgive me for this rookie question...but, since you're painting with the doors attached - Are you replacing the hinges? Or just the hardware on the face of the cabinets?

  • @Mrinkdogg Painting your kitchen cabinets hinges is an option and on this particular project the home owner choose to paint hinges, Hardware was replace.

  • What do you use for glaze since you are not clear coating afterwards?
