@unclefixer, the MPCV Orion will send the crew to the space and bring the crew safely to the Earth. The animation at the end is wrong, the capsule will reach Mars with several modules.

I don't know where they get the idea this thing can go to Mars, It a capsule!! for deep space missions, you need a space ship, a real one. An orion can be a ferry vehicle and can lauch astronauts up to a orbiting space vessel, but no, orion is to small and under powered to get to mars, besides our government is to fickle and crooked to actually complete such a project any way, let private enterprize do it , cheaper and more efficient

@withholeyshoes Because the Orion is supposed to be larger and capable of more then Apollo, also the Orion is supposed to be our first interplanetary vessel capable of going to the moon, mars, etc. also the Apollo used less computing power then the average smart phone so this one should have some more advanced tech on bored.
