  • Excuse my ignorance, but why separate the two channels if they are both going to be sent out as mono hits to the DAW? What is the benefit of this as opposed to taking the kick with the higher frequency, layering it with itself and just filtering it? What is achieved by filtering 2 kicks with the LPF at different cutoffs as opposed to one?

  • @iromeku they will be sent out as mono hits to the daw but layered on top of each other as opposed to the left channel only being sent out of the left speaker. they will be both recorded as one but layered on top of each other. watch the video and try it for yourself. it comes with a download. thats the whole point of it fam.

  • Can i do this by creating a drum loop than duplicating the track, than putting one track left and one right?

In other words, are you taking a kick for instance that you like, and than seperating the left and right, than tweaking the two and layering them both whyle u play the kick?

  • @Airek2007 yes you seperate the one same kick or snare etc and tweak them individually and then layer them on top of each other to play at the same time.

  • so your sampling stereo and then seperating the channel and then layering the L and R together right? Does this work with the mpc classic too? as far as seperating stereo channels i mean.

  • @8golftango this technique applies to any mpc and any software program. you sample in Stereo and seperate the left from the right channel and you layer them on top of each other and you filter them both differently and seperate levels.
