BLM Lauterbrunnen - Murren Mountain Railway part 1

Ride on the upper section of BLM over the Lauterbrunnen Valley. This narrow gauge ( 1 m; 3 ft 3 3⁄8 in ) electric mountain railway was opened in 1891. It provides connection between Grutschalp and Murren, climbing 147 metres over a 4 km stretch. The entire line offers magnificent views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and the mountain chain comprising the Eiger, Monch and the Jungfrau, depending on the weather :) Mine wasn't the best, though

A popular ride taken many times. Alas no more. I'll miss the little cafe in Murren.

This must be the best train ride ever! So sad that the funicular has been replaced by a cable car after 114 years. It won't be the same again. Pity it couldn't be restored because of the fault line beneath the track.
