@strictlydubwise Christians were calling on bomb threats? Really?
Well that makes them extremists or terrorists because of that film?
Well Muslims, meet your worst fear, ever!

So its a what if movie? Alright. I'm okay with that.

This film has the courage to address the question “If Jesus was a man, what assumptions can be made for how a man, perfect and without sin, dealt with the temptation of sinning. Sin being something that all men face it is not possible to think that Jesus was never tempted.

To believe that would be to completely disregard the fact that Jesus was a man. The struggles that it shows him face are events that are recorded in the bible. I feel it is a completely beautiful work of art. Although there is an angle of artistic license, Scorsese I feel captures the intense struggle of a man who knew he was to save the world

The questions that are created through this movie are simply a way to become closer to God. Only the person who questions God, can begin to be drawn near to him. Nobody should simply believe what is said, an individual must strive for their own belief structure and never simply follow blindly because someone (even parents) say it is true.

@ahappykitten It's because this film makes you think -- the last thing the right-wing evangelicals want you to do. I was living in Arkansas when this was released, and "Christians" were calling in bomb threats to the one theater in Little Rock that showed it. Gibson's film is so literal-minded that it might as well be a lump of concrete -- precisely what most of these evangelicals have between their ears. So they like that one.

It's weird how this film was protested and Mel's celebrated.
