Hello guys!! As promised from a while back, I mentioned that there was a treatment we could use to make our photos and paper products as well as recycled cardboard and corrugated cardboard acid free and archival safe, make sure you do this treatment in a very well ventilated area, like outside!! I finally bought the "Preserve It" by Krylon to treat my paper products and to demonstrate it for you!

Let's be acid free and "Preserve it!". Thanks for watching guys! I hope this was helpful:)

xoxo Jules:)

  • Thank You Jules. OfficeMax used their "standard stock" for my pictures. So don't know about the acid content. Glad to learn you can print light coats on newspaper and not have the reverse side show through! I know that newspaper is much thinner than the paper stock I have. Once I obtain a can of Preserve It, I'll follow your advice to use several light coats, rather than one heavy coat like I did with the spray lacquer. Thanks again Jules!

  • @frankpc3asdf Your welcome!! Glad to help if I can:) Have a good one!! Jules:)

  • I plan to use Preserve It on color photos printed on a laser printer and then glued with spray contact cement to black hardboard. I used spray lacquer clear finish but the color of the photos was lost. It appeared that the finish soaked into the paper and made them somewhat transparent . The lighter colors were affected more than the darker colors.

Will Preserve It have that same effect?

They say Preserve It works with newspaper. Does the back side show through when sprayed?

    Thanks

  • @frankpc3asdf Hi there! Thanks for watching! I just started using the preserve it. I was told that it will hold the colors in, but really time will tell on some things. as far as the newspaper goes. It does show though only when soaked...I do a light spray a couple different times and it seems fine:) Also remember that different types of photo paper are already acid free, so no need to add preserve it...and.. some papers may react differently with it too. I hope that helps a little. Jules:)
