@mentafox Don't you ever wonder where the people you gave advice 2 years ago to are today? I do sometimes.
-
woops *blush*

Eh, that's 0.0, not low-sec empire, everyone blobs there.
-
Gallente Federation players? I take it they love to blob a lot. Have this false sense that their the good guys and everyone else are the bad guys. Oh yes we keep to ourselves and think we are better then the other human-sub races. OOoooh.

lol that would scare me shitless seeing all those red dots on the screen. plus where the hell is your team!?

@jeanmarc87 Listen to mentafox
I would suggest you don't 'seriously' start patrolling low security space unless you have 3 months worth of training under your belt specialized in a ship like mentafox mentioned. Also, make friends. Even PvE can be challenging if you don't network and find a player corporation to help you out. If you can arrange a fleet that complements each others vessels, you stand a good chance at surviving hostile player encounters.
Good hunting.

@mentafox solo is the best ever ever!!!

what do you mean keep up with?
mentafox 3 years ago
as in who's attacking who, who you're meant to be attacking, what to do if you're suddenly being focused on...

Ah, sounds like you arent too familiar with EVE. You can use your "overview" to filter all friendly people off it, so that it only shows hostile ships. In the case of this fleet it was purely hostile (from my point of view). If they were to lock me, i would die in less than a second, because of their shere power and my fragile shiptype.
I was in a covert-ops frigate, and i was cloaked about 90 kilometres away from them, so they couldnt see me.

filters. of course. well im only used to missions and ratting, i havent even had a taste of fleet combat yet ( i have yet to leave verge vendor lol), i'll only do so when i have a solo hyperion (i.e. when i feel safe) lol

bit of advice here mate. in pvp bigger is NOT =safer. often quite the opposite tbh.
The single most stupid thing you can do when new to PVP, is pvping for the first time in an expensive ship(bs etc).
Try in frigate-sized ships first, act as a tackler or maybe ecm frig/cruiser.
An interceptor frigate is a good way to learn, plus it's a decent asset to a gang.
This ofcourse is assuming you want to join a lowsec/0.0 pvp force, and not do solowork. However i strongly recommend not going solo
