  • Das beißt, kratzt und schnurrt ganz verführerisch. Purrfekt!

  • I liked the videomaker's translation because it got across the gold-digger metaphor that was the whole point of the song in the first place. IMHO a literal translation doesn't work because the song's meaning is being communicated through all this wordplay. You have to make a choice between preserving the format or the meaning of the song, since, you know, the rest of us have no way of knowing that the word for "mice" is slang for money. Puns don't translate.

  • actually, "jetzt liegt es bei dir" translates into "now it's up to you". maybe you missunderstood the first few lines, but "you have found her, now its up to you

    to take care of her

who knows maybe shell purr" like the other guy posted is a correct translation. yours isn't.

As a matter of fact, catwithblueeyes' translation is overall better and leaves more room for interpretations.

  • she grasps your pillow sits enthroned arrogantly she eats you out of house and home but never from the palm of your hand when you reach out for her she hisses dont touch me when you have zero time for her she creeps up on you she falls on her paws she doesnt play by the rules she bristles you cant lead her not train her , too she doesnt submit no, youll never own her...
  • that's my interpretation: you have found her, now its up to you to take care of her who knows maybe shell purr she comes and she leaves whenever she wants she lolls in your bedsheets made of soft flanell she plays with her prey never rides to the hounds, doesnt obey she counts your mice, murders them silently and efficiently no, youll never own her yet, you like to pet her that, she knows for sure meow
  • well, it's not only a wrong interpretation of the song's lyrics, it's also terribly wrong translatet

  • I know, but you don't know if the lyrics are about a cat or a woman, so you should post them like they actually are in German. Interpreting it is something everyone should do on his own, because it's very tricky.

  • Bad bad lyrics! It's so much different than in German. Next time I see something like this gonna translate it myself. I'm German, yep. -.-

  • Love this video.

  • I love the style of this video - it is awesome work absolutely brilliant.
