Me playing the first movement of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No.2 op.18.

This was (poorly) recorded at the national finals of the Canadian Music Competition (CMC) in June 2007.

I got 2nd prize in my category, which was Piano 17 and we were 12 pianists in it.

  • This is a wonderful performance. Are you related to the great pianist of the same surname?

  • I wish :P

But no, unfortunately I'm not. But thanks for the kind words !

  • Bravo! Superior technique, beautifully played!

  • lol that's cool :)

  • Eh i change my opinion and sorry for being so mean i just tried on a yamaha grand piano which i think it cost about 600k it sounds great!

  • Nothing wrong with a very good Yamaha.

Richter and Glenn Gould both loved the Yamaha.

Besides, when Richter was asked what he expects from a piano, first thing he said was "I expect more from myself".

  • steinway is def. the best,

but yamaha can be good. you just gotta adapt

  • EWW yamaha but great playing.

  • Wonderful work indeed!

  • Probably. The accompanist rarely memorizes the song. Also, the music is quite helpful to have so that you can see the music of the soloist so that you can keep together.

  • Bravo! This caught my eye as I've just plo the orchestral part on 2ndPno for a friend's Paris recital diploma(he sucçode!)You both keep good balance of sound and are well synchronose, very difficult in this medium. Your solo interpretation is strongly passionate & natural. Keep at it!
