Flip Ultra HD & Kodak Zi8 comparison (Watch in 720p)

Flip Ultra HD & Kodak Zi8 both filming beside each other. While the frame rate of the original footage from the Kodak is 60fps, the conversion done by YouTube takes it down to 30fps, the same as the Flip. On the audio front, the Flip is stereo while the Kodak is mono - but an external stereo mic can be fitted to it.

why does it get laggy when I watch in 720p? i have a brand new laptop.

@GoofyBoa Probably more YouTube than your new laptop. Try viewing in full screen 720p, should be smoother. I sometimes have similar problems and that always fixes it.

Seems the Kodak has better resolution but the Flip has MUCH better sound quality.

@JCoreyball2 This is true, of the internal microphones. However, you can plug in an external stereo mic to the Kodak Zi8. (The internal one is mono, for some strange reason!)

Ive got a flip ultra hd myself its a no bad camera, but the kodak is probably better

To be honest, it was the first one I found but after plenty of research, I do think the Kodak Zi8 shades over it - however it is newer than the Flip Ultra HD.

Yes - and the bonus with the Kodak is you can plug-in a stereo mic.
