  • Solid.

  • @guitarstrummr Jesus Christ said that 'The scriptures testify of Me.' The book of Revelations is all about Him.

  • @guitarstrummr Since when did humans assert that as a standard for anything??? Since roughly 2000 years ago.

  • You know, Hitler showed mercy on a few people, too.

Does that mean Hitler has intrinsic goodness?

Your logic is astoundingly bad. It sounds like you are trying desperately to justify a monster by appealing to his good traits.

    Only one more word:

    Hahahahahahah!

  • The Bible asserts itself as the standard (2 Tim 3:16). The question is whether or not the assertion is valid. I believe that the assertion can be validated (though I doubt you'll agree even if I show every possible reason under the sun why it's valid), but this setting will not suffice for such a lengthy discussion. Your second question likewise will require more explanation. A few hundred words simply won't do it justice. I'd be happy to respond at length to you through private messaging.

  • You realize you didn't answer my queston.

Since when did humans assert that was a standard for anything?

I'll follow it up with another.

Who says the 66 books of the Protestant Canon are the Word of God?

Peter says that men had all they need for life and godliness *before* Revelation was finished. So why is Revelation considered an essential part of God's Word if Peter himself obviously didn't think it was necessary?

  • Anybody who is a professing Christian will take what the Bible says seriously, and anyone who ignores or dances around what scripture clearly teaches does so at his own risk, like 'calvinismisacult' does above. As a book concerning God's 'special revelation', it is the standard by which Christians are to live. Deuteronomy 7:12, Deuteronomy 30:11-20, Luke 10:25-28, are good examples of this standard that is to be kept, the Word of God.

  • So the fuck what if its Biblical? Since when did humans assert that was a standard for anything?

  • See Matthew 22:14, John 6:53-70, Ephesians 1:3-14, Romans 9, as well as the openings of the other epistles, each one of these espouses predestination. The fact that God shows mercy on only a few and brings them to salvation despite their sinful nature is a testament to his goodness, he could leave us all to hell and eternal torment and separation from him, but for his own reasons that we do not know he only chose some for salvation in Christ, it is completely biblical.

  • Desiring an unconditional damnation "God" is depraved
