  • you guys are so lucky to have a great master.

  • Unfortunately, this ego thing is so difficult to control. Good of you Rinpoche to give this talk which is very informative.

  • The whole purpose of the debate is to create further understanding rather than putting people down.

  • Debate is such an excellent method of Buddhism to sharpen our understand of the philosophy and teachings so we can develop real realisations and many monks have actually gained it right in the middle of a debate.

  • Debate is a highly developed method to develop a thorough understanding of the teachings. It involves practice that involves dissecting their knowledge and wisdom through the formal process of debate. The beauty of it is, ego and its attendant laziness of feeling unworthy will be wiped away through the process.

  • good talk

  • Debate is an old tradition that has been brought over from ancient Buddhist India. The tradition has an excellent means to sharpen our grasp of the teachings so we have indisputable comprehension so our faith in the teachings becomes unshakeable!

  • Debate is an amazing way to learn and to clear our doubts. This tradition is amazing and should be treasured. Not many Buddhist tradition except the Sakyas stress this so much. Let's keep the Gaden tradition alive!

  • Actually, whatever it was, people with ego or with less ego, it is still highly engaging for many and it makes learning the Dharma exciting. During debate in KH, you can see more than 90 percent of people are pay full attention which is unusual unless its Rinpoche talking of course.
