This is the first startup of the new engine in the frame. Still have to install new exhuast gaskets which is why you see all the smoke. Also need to hook turbo back up which is why it is running a little off.

  • Check out my driving around video. Has not been an issue. I have the right amount of leafs on the top and bottom that soften it up. When you go down a really crappy road you get some dribble but not bad.

  • Cool idea. The cooling air intake really goes with the rat rod theme with the cone look and all.

You really need to go a new direction with the exhaust though. It really looks hoakey.

The exhaust sort of ruins the look.

  • @24preacherboy Thanks for the feedback. Please check out my later videos. This video is the exhuast that came out of the excavator I pulled it from. Changed it since then but still need to do something different.

  • To each there own. I built it and drive it. First safety was my main concern when building. I put over 3K miles on it last year. Thats more than most of the chromed out cars I see at car shows. There is a bunch of crap out there I will not disagree.

  • Wish people would take the time to talk to the builder and learn more. When I go to shows I even have many traditionalist that at least will have a conversation and find something they like or gives them an idea. Having fun and talking about cars is what it is about.

  • Fantastic design and idea ,,if you set it up with the hand crank offered by deutz you can have a car with absolutely no electrical system,, ja ja the oposite to hybrid ,,and probably a good mileage too.. congrats ..ernest

  • does it have airbags or bluetooth technology or gps navigation?

  • amazing project, although the front looks a bit bare, kinda naked, unless thats what you are going for. btw what do you do for heat being air cooled?

  • @BloodSweatandWhiskey i agree tottally, i built my 51 buick in 4 months last year, and won best unfinished at the first show i went to, i dont consider my car to be a rat at all, its an art car, only built to impress me, nobody else. your truck is not like all the cookie cutter rats we see on the tube. no fake airbrushed names on your doors or jeans/license plates for inside door skins either, you go dude!!!

  • Nice Truck! Cool idea, we have a couple old deutz engines laying around and i have always wanted to put them in one of our old trucks!

  • @gasser55t Jealous much?

  • That is the coolest truck I have seen in a LONG TIME. It is fresh and unique, and (even though I'm a GM guy) it's not running the typical small block. Bravo to you sir on your truly AWESOME creation. Hope to see lots more of it soon. ^_^

  • I really like the powerplant. I saw your driving around video too, and read your a bit reluctant to chop it. I hear ya there, I was too on my bomber, but I'm glad I did. Can you lower the fuel tank a bit? That may be why you like the look from the rear, the cab doesn't look so tall with the tank up that hi. Anyway cool ride, I think I have your grill on mine. lol
