This is my 11 week old foster pig, Poppy. This is our very first clicker training session. We practiced some hand targeting first. I upped my criteria a little too quickly in two spots, once when I tried to fade out the target and once when I stood up. She is so sweet and cute! I am loving this experience. I've only had her for 4 days.
Love this video!!
Looks like Poppy is super smart.
How about an agility pig or a freestyle dancing pig? I bet she could beat the dogs at either sport! I've heard that pigs are quite intelligent and from this video it looks like she is a quick learner.

@susanmann
Sounds like the big pigs would be similar in some ways to clicker training the horses, in that it would be important to emphasize backing, space management and polite treat taking behaviors.

Yeah- I did some clicker training of some BIG pigs- we used human cookies as treats, and had to watch the fingers! We did some standing with front legs up on a small platform, recalls, and backing up (the last was especially useful, as they loved to crowd the humans!)

@kikopup - sigh, yeah. If only they stayed cute little piglets instead of growing up to be big pigs. But do I see a future Pig Dance star on the horizon? ;-))
