It's all in how you advertise and market yourself. The more and the Better you market yourself statistically you Increase your chances Exponentially! On LinkedIn you can write to thousands of recruiters and also post your resume and let them find you....it's a Beautiful thing! I've only been looking for two weeks and I've had 4 recruiters call me to set up interviews. I posted on LinkedIn and 12 other job boards as well as individual companies and I check every day for a couple of hours.

Linkedin is, per capita of membership, one of the biggest, most intrusive spammers and data miners on the web. Years ago I joined, and upon an immediate flood of unwanted emails I set my email preferences as tightly as I could. This changed nothing, so I changed my contact info. Once confirmed, I closed my account. 4 years later linkedin still spams me w/ invites. Today was from a local. I will express my extreme displeasure at him. The a-holes that run linkedin should be stoned to death.
