Charted at #4 in Billboard in December 1948. Vocals by the Three Kaydets. Based on an English folk song and nursery rhyme. It was featured in the 1948 movie, "So Dear to My Heart", as sung by Burl Ives, and was nomimated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. Also #9 for Dinah Shore in December 1948, #16 for Burl Ives and Captain Stubby and the Buccaneers in February 1949 (#13 Country), and #17 for Jack Smith and the Clark Sisters in January 1949. A remake by Sammy Turner charted at #3 in June 1959 (#14 R&B).
