There are many products and styling techniques that can damage hair. The most common culprits are blow dryers, curling irons, flat irons, and hot rollers. In addition to the chemicals put on hair to perm, color and relax it, hair also can get heat damage from the UV light of the sun or from tanning beds. Fortunately, there are steps you can take to repair heat-damaged hair.

@kg624 I definitely encourage saying no to heat. I understand sometimes people get curious to seen their length so they flat iron. Or time is limited so they blow dry. If one must do so then it should definitely be done in extreme moderation. I hope you do keep up with protective styling you will see the world of difference in the health of your hair. Keep me posted on your journey honey. I will support you to the fullest with your "4D hair" lol.

Attempted to blowout my fro last night. BIG FAIL. My hair is so thick (I say my hair is 4D lol) that it wasn't getting dry even on high heat. I don't know if my technique is wrong but I don't think I'll try again. I just don't want to risk damaging my hair now that it's getting healthy again. I underestimated how much heat can actually damage hair cause my fro was parched afterwards. I will be doing a protective style soon and if I can afford it I will do those until summer time.
