Sorry ran out of space on memory card!!!!! left out custom leather seat (very nice seat!!!) was from Daniel owner of Twisted Stitch. Here is the rundown: 2010 Home Built ORV consisting on a 48Vdc 1000Watt electric motor and throttle purchased from monsterscooterparts.com. The single speed "gear box" I built using a few bearings, a belt and pulleys from McGuire Bearing and routing out some aluminum brackets and turning a shaft on my dads lathe/mill (thanks Dad and bro for your help with that). The frame was from a Kazuma Mearkat 50CC gas quad that was a total wreck when I got it. (Thanks GP for the plastics, tires and other parts to put it back into what looks like a quad) The entire motor, control unit and reverse relays are all located in a Plexiglas enclosure to ensure it is water proof. There are 2 fans inside to help keep things cool (I hope) but have no way yet to be sure. It has a head light, tail light, break light (still need to mount the break switch) and the break light/ tail light I build out of some ultra bright LEDs and the original reflector, and a horn. The power comes from 8 12V Sealed Lead Acid 9Ah batteries connected in 2 groups of 4 to get to the 48VDC it requires. (I may add 4 more batteries 2 in each rear wheel well for more run time). It is geared to go about 12.5 MPH at the full speed of the motor (says 3000RPM on the side of it) but I have no way to know for sure of its speed yet. (It is fast enough for a 3 year old!!!!) It will climb any hill or spin the tires loose trying!! It still needs a little more work and some kind of monitoring system.
@RST1600 Check youtube.com/watch?v=RludIQdlTxs or search my other videos (only 3 and they are all about the quad)
Thanks for looking. Feel free to ask questions, I will answer if I can.
