I just finished watching every second of all 15 entries in the Celebrate Oncology Nursing Month Video Contest. Thank you to all who were involved in making me laugh so hard I peed myself and cry hard enough to need at least a box of Kleenexes. It is so lifting of my spirit to experience the emotional, spiritual, and intellectual spectrum of my comrades at arms in the fight against cancer.
Regards,
Sharon Y. MacEwen, President Nature Coast Nurses (FL) Chapter of ONS
I was one of these type patients in 2008, and my nurses were great too. You guys are the reason we are alive in many cases. Thanks be to God, for ALL oncology nurses, surgeons, hematologists, pharmacists, pathologists etc etc. I thought it was cute how the young woman was sarcastic about "the money", and how it is not a specialty. Can you believe that? In many hospitals, nurses do not get extra pay for working w/ such an important disease / paitent population. Like how teachers are underpaid.
