  • That's not Vinnie playing David Logeman. Jeff Berlin did get the gig but was sacked after him and Vinnie asked Frank for more money than the rest of the guys in the band. That's why the pedestrian Logeman was hired!

  • @winstonschwarz Yes and no. It's actully Vinnie playing here, he left a couple of weeks before the tour started. Frank then auditioned David and hired him, who had to learn the material in just a week...

  • I wonder if I was there? Shortly after, I recorded Frank, Tommy, Ed and Vinnie auditioning Jeff Berlin.

  • @videoasst Nice, do you still have that recording? Jeff never toured with Frank as you may know, so it's problary a very valuable piece of tape. :)

But if my knowledge is correct, Jeff's stint with Frank was in early 1981, not -80. Arthur Barrow was Frank's bass player throughout 1980, and Ed Mann wasn't in the band that year.

  • Wow, I prefer this rehearsal version of Cleeveland over later versions.

  • the beginning sounds like deep purples owed to g!

  • Kreega Bondola (aka Cleveland)

Also a quote from the Sleep Dirt album in there somewhere

  • Kreega Bondola (AKA "Cleveland)

there's a quote from the "Sleep Dirt" album in there somewhere, maybe "Filthy Habits" of the like

  • WOW Arf!

  • @YourArf I do have that tape. I recorded it using a B&O stereo ribbon mic and an Sony TCD5M - which I had just purchased while we were in New York.

Jeff never played with Frank. He auditioned. After that Vinnie left. Maybe Art continued in the band - I don't remember now. It's been 30 years!

  • It's from Tinsel town Rebelion.Brown Shoes don't make it!
