If you think only of the hand then he is crossing over, but if you think of his hand and forearm as all one surface then the center of that surface never crosses the center line.

Yeah you seem to get the idea... Stroke-counting is probebly the most important thing when ur analysing your technique... But the bousquet technique took about 1 week for me to copy, and coaches say that i have a good feeling for teqnique.. (But i don´t know, maybe ur a supertalent @ copying others...) So give it at least 1 week and get sure your videotaped when analysing how it went... Im trying the bousquet one this month :D

Yeah. there is a great video of Phelps' technique, shows some great underwater shots. Going to go see what I can develop tonight. I'm looking to only use a maximum of 4 arm pulls to be past the 12.5m mark from a push start, not sprinting. Will try Bousquet's technique and a few other things.

And do some freestyle with fingerpaddles afterwards to make sure ur fists are pointing down... If you get this technique right you will have a non-pausing stroke and therefor a crazy strokerate,... But if it doesn´t work with the reaching bit (cuz it´s kinda hard) go with a more easy technique like phelps´s or sullivans... with ur own twist ofcourse :)

ur welcome.. I would rather compare bousquets technique with phelps 200m technique than with sullivans.. But freddy reaches out more extemely over the water and then propels him forward with almost completely straight arms.. If you want to try it do the head-over-water-freestyle drill to make sure ur "hooking" the water properly and don´t forget that you should almost freeze the water with the arm holding still and pull the water by twisting ur core... Otherwise it´s hard to pull w str8 arms
