1967 Impala (original song)

To my mind the 1967 Chevrolet Impala is one hell of a classy car. I wanted to make a song that was influenced by this fine automobile. What better to build a song about a car around a driving riff? So I came up with the driving main riff. Rock Organs and big band like brass give a little 60s/70s feel to it.
While preserving the main flavor of the beginning, I wanted the song to take the listener to a couple of different places, like a car would do. So I added the soft acoustic breakdown and the oriental and jazzy solos later in the song. Most of the song is written in lydian dominant, which gives a funky strange flavor. Finally the song becomes full circle when - after a shredy breakdown - the main riff jumps in again.
