  • i own an asian water monitor ive had him about a mnth he's about a foot and a half long. and i hve him in a 5 ft long 3 ft tall 2 and a half foot wide custom cage for nw with proper temps., swimming, climbing area, substrate etc. taming is going well. but he eats really pickey. he wnt take insects, feeder fish, egg, or mealworms. he will ONLY take fuzzy mice. and he took a small crawfish ONCE. and he wnt eat in front of me, i hve to leave the food for him. is that nrmal for a hchling's behavior??

  • @justind507 they are individuals... so they aren't all as picky as yours but they deff can be. Just keep trying everything you can to cater to what he wants. Embrace the challenge!

  • what size tanks are the juvenile ones in?

  • man for 30,000 for a pet that mother fucker better be able to go out and get a job and clean up after it self

  • do you think they are tame because you had them since they hatched

  • what are the different from water monitors and nile monitors

  • where can I get a water moniter? I've looked online and the only websites i find are sold out

  • wow awesome monitors, the pet store i go to is selling them for 30,000$ (NERD)

  • What they say about monitors imprinting on people is right, at least in my experience. My monitor is friendly with everyone, but when I leave, he clambers to the top of his cage and waits there until I open it again unless I'm gone for more than an hour.

Very intelligent animals and very fun to deal with. I want an albino one day... if I can ever muster up that much money. Thanks to NERD for supplying me with the best lizard anyone could ever ask for.

  • i wish you hatch leucistics

  • @justind507 Same here....my Rajha lives in a 6'X4'2 and he eats fuzzies like crazy ! We take him out every day and he's such a good boy it's not even normal. I feed him eggs and a little bit of shrimps or cook chicken liver. He's a year and 3 months now. This albino WM is so awesome ! Look at the shot with the black and him together.....amazing !!
