The state of Canada's democracy is dire. Candidates are being arrested for interacting with people in public. In this case the candidate, while abrasive, was not doing anything illegal. When the police show up, they immediately work to eliminate any open discussion. The police in Canada do not know their oath of office and this is just one more case to illustrate the point. "Uphold the constitution" is part of their oath. We have constitutional rights to use public sidewalks, to express ourselves and to peaceably assemble. The police in Canada do not care what our constitutional rights are. The police have been turned into mercenaires that stop at nothing to quell any form of dissent or free speech.

The school system in Canada is being used to indoctrinate an entire generation to submit to authority without question. They have started using "lockdown" procedures to teach teach children to cower in fear and wait until an "authority" comes to save them. Unfortunately for these people, the police are not legally required to offer any form of protection, so these kids will be unprepared to deal with the real world once they graduate.

Another impact of the "lockdown" procedure is that it teaches petty civil servants to overstep their boundaries. Vice-Principal, Mr. Michael DeGroote michael.degroote@granderie.ca and Vice - Principal Mr. Dino Crapsi dino.crapsi@granderie.ca seem to feel it completely reasonable to use physical force against a member of the public for using a public side walk.

  • from a student of pj i support john turmel

  • O'Neil Brooke: Hey John. That is good news and thank you for the update. Are there any disciplinary hearings for the officer involved? Are they being sent on any training courses?

Jct: I don't go after little functionaries overstepping their authority.

"Have they learned anything from the incident?

Jct: Maybe. They made mistakes, perjury, destruction of evidence.

"Or is this a case where the crown gave the police a mulligan and is quietly sweeping it under the rug?"

    Jct: He saved them

  • Jct: Sorry I didn't mention it earlier but the Crown stayed the charges a month ago. So it's not illegal to videotape teenage students answers to my questions.
