MAX CREEK should be on the cover of Relix magazine, but few outside of the area know who they are. They are New England's best kept secret. These guys have been putting out great music and playing awesome live shows since the early 70's, and we are very grateful that they consistly do this. We are also grateful for an organization like Wormtiown (www.wormtown.com) for making the New England jam band scene vibrant.
On the night before Thanksgiving 2007, a couple of friends and I ventured from our home base in Boston , down to Lupo's in Providence to see the band. It was an incredible show, and I am happy to have this chance to share some video of the show with everybody. I captured the video using my new Canon TX1 high def camera. I am still learning how to work it, so I apologize for the low light, and distorted sound. I also apologize for the fact that my lens was distracted several times by lovely dancing female Creek fans.
I hope you all enjoy this. Long live Max Creek. TJ Welch

  • I'm big into phish and saw all the debate about Max Creek and Trey.... I have to say they are nothing alike aside from both playing a Languedoc. That being said, I can dig on some Max Creek as well.

  • i cant wait for camp creek!

  • They return to Lupo's Thanksgiving Eve-

  • Holy sheep, I remember watching them at the old Livingroom, down on Promenade.. loved them then, wish I was still there to see them now.

  • Hey jv?, I was walkin' it with you! Trips in the old blue Duster. Good times indeed!

  • Holy shit, what a trip to come across this video. Starting in 1983 we used to make the trip to Providence, to Lupos, from Farmington, CT and then later from Storrs, to "walk on the wild side". I'm not sure how we survived all the late night drives after ripping it up with the boys at the "heartbreak". Good times! we were kids in a crazy tribe staying up all night blowing the lid off an otherwise dull existence; school, parents, work, zzzzzzz. CREEK! Yeah. Thanks for posting this.

  • I saw them last Saturday and they were better than ever!

  • LOVED these guys in the mid-80's! Gypsy Blue was one of my favorite tunes, loved seeing them when the dead weren't around, so much fun.

  • wow,..i was there too,..was that really 20 years ago?

  • I remember those days well! I actually miss them. I must have seen them there 100 times.
