So one of the things that worried me about my intent to move to Japan next year was not having anywhere to take my road bike.
Guess I was wrong O.O
That's awesome. Cool vid.
I'd love to ride that road around the lake.
It all looked pretty smooth too.
Shit... it's better than anywhere I could ride here!

Thanks!
Yeah, don't worry, bring your bike, you will regret it if you don't! Even in the city, people ride and it's much easier to get around on a "real" bike than a "mamachari"! You can even take your bike on the train so if there aren't many trails near you, they are only a train ride away. :)
I brought mine from the U.S. so if you need any tips on bringing yours, when you're ready, just let me know!

Thanks! Awesome. I'll prob end up taking the train from Kobe to that lake. Shouldn't be too long.
How'd you get your bike over? I figured I'd take it apart and get another suitcase that would fit it all.

I actually packed it in a cardboard bike box and shipped it along with some winter clothes and misc. other stuff. I shipped it by air for really cheap. I used a company called "Nippon Express" and they offer shipping by sea and air. Air came out cheaper for me, and it's fast!

I forgot to add... If you can spare the room then definitely bring it in another bag or an airline bike bag (hard suitcase). I used all my allowable luggage space for clothes.
