Chalateco Restaurant:Dirty Secret

On January, 02, 2008, I visited the Chalateco Restaurant on South King Road and Alum Rock Ave, San Jose, CA. The restaurant specializes in fine Salvadorean, EL Salvador, and , Mexican, Mexico City style food. I was eager to select and taste their menu items: Tacos, Huaraches, Pupusas, Parrilladas, Tortas, Burritos, Pambazos, Alambres, etc. The chosen food selected tasted ok, but then it began tasting unusual and awful with every bite which dissapointed me. Likewise, I witnessed a worker casually stripping and tearing away old paint and adhesives from the interior walls, that is, remodeling the interior during operation hours. Most shocking was the sight of a worker nonchalantly painting away the ceiling above the food preparation that I luckily caught on my camera video. This must explain why my food tasted so bad. Don't these people know about the risk of food contamination, health and safety violation, or even care about the general welfare of their customers? I'll never eat there again. Hopefully, the restaurant will improve its careless "chapucero" standards.
