Road to Hana roadblock...No problem!

This is why you should opt to get rental insurance on ur jeep when visiting Maui. This was taken while we drove the Road to Hana. We came to a road block(pile of rocks,steel) after driving 32 miles and 3 hours of winding, partially one lane highway. We didnt want to turn back and do the entire drive over again so we took matters into our own hands and climbed over it with our rental Jeep.**Note, the rocks were placed on a bridge and it was a 20 foot drop on the drivers side.

Im not even from the mainland, Im stationed at Kaneohe bay marine corps base, serving this country, so dont tell me about not having respect, I have lived in Hawai'i for many years and respect the culture and the land. What happened there? I did the Road to Hana a month ago. AWESOME!!! WHAT???. Yeah,. Can't wait to go back. But the weather was perfect and the road was perfect.

This is so disrespectful. Just because you are stationed here does not mean you are from here. Don't try to pull the Iraq card. Be respectful of this beautiful place. If something is blocked off it means they don't want people going there!
