I also shoot a D7 so not full frame...not sure if that changes your opinion on sharpness...will the 24-70 have better bokeh since its not shooting at full frame then say a 5d?

@AlternativeEnergyNC they're both extrememly sharp. Stop caring about how sharp they are and just shoot. if you actually see them not being sharp then thats a problem, but I doubt anyone actually sees these lenses as being soft. The people that do care way too much about technicalities and not enough about photography. Sure, some lenses ARE soft, but these 2 in particular are far from it. The EF 24-105 L Lens is my most-used landscape lens on a full frame camera. It has great image quality – at least as good as the 24-70, but these two are similar at the same aperture and focal length settings
