The Ventures version is the first track on the "Wild Again" CD. I think Gerry McGee's playing electric sitar on the lead.

EXCELLENT surf medley, Mr. Leone! Baja, Diamond Head, Walk Don't Run, Wipe Out, Secret Agent Man, all covered by The Ventures at some point. (Baja credit to L. Hazelwood. Diamond Head credit to D. Hamilton)
I'd buy some more Eastwood guitars but I'm paying my daughter's college tuition right now. Guess I'll just have to be satisfied with my collection of vintage Mosrites.

i seriously doubt the wood 'breaks down'. the bulk of the sound comes from the type of amp. The guitar's contribution to the sound is much less than the amp...that's a fact.
