How to use FRAPS

Not-so-great Fraps tutorial.

Fraps has a free endless trial version that records only 30 seconds at a time, and has a small watermark at the top. If you want to record for as much time as you hard drive space allows, and without a watermark, buy it for $37 off the website by clicking the BUY tab on the website.

Fraps records in HUGE file sizes; this is because it cannot compress them as it records uncompressed AVI files. This means it has the best quality possible for a PC recorder. If this is a problem, buy a bigger internal hard drive, or buy a large external hard drive. USB 2.0 externals work fine, faster would be better.

Fraps splits the video files around every 4GB's to maintain stability.

If your game lags while recording with Fraps, update your drivers. If it still lags, get a better computer.

The Fraps version in the video is severely outdated, and as a result, so is this video. I'll be making a new one soon.

Ok thank you i have windows 7 so ill try that. I also have one more question can you take a song from the internet and put it on a video? Because im trying to make a video but i dont know how to put a song on i can only put sample songs on and they suck :/.

@AwEsOmEnEsS19992001 You can put music over songs in editing, programs like Windows Movie Maker (which is free) and Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas (which are expensive) are the most commonly used ones. Virtual Dub is also really good, also free.

@LonelyDragon11 You need to either reinstall it, choose a different save location, or get more hard drive space. Of course, if you didn't buy it, you'll need to so you won't have a 30 second limit.

@AwEsOmEnEsS19992001 If you use Windows 7 or Vista you can tell fraps to "Monitor Aero Desktop" which will capture your whole desktop.
