Innovative producer/director Godfrey Philipp received a special Logie Award in 1979 for his work on the short-lived NR11-RTN8 children's television series, 'Rainbow'. Unfortunately the program wasn't picked up nationally and lasted a mere five episodes. Philipp, who died in April, 2011, had previously made outstanding contributions to children's television viewing when he joined forces with John-Michael Howson to create 'The Magic Circle Club' (1965-67) and 'Adventure Island' (1967-72). In the late 1970s/early 80s he produced and directed a number of 'Prisoner' episodes for the Grundy Organisation.
