As far as comebacks-in 1975 at the US Open (clay-rubico surface then), Manuel Orantes beat Guillermo Vilas by 4-6,1-6,6-2, 7-5 (here Orantes was down 0-5 !! in the 4th set), and then won the 5th by 6-4. I remember seeing that Orantes was still a good sport by not gesturing or pumping like today's hotshots do when he won points and ultimately the 4th set and then the match. Vilas was dazed and very quiet in defeat.

@wfamdaxj That was Wimbledon 1987, 4th round. Mikael Pernfors was leading Jimmy Connors 6-1, 6-1, 4-1 and lost the match in 5 sets. Great match. You can pick it up from several of the online sellers of tennis matches on DVD. I bought a copy of this match earlier this year (but mine was from the HBO coverage that picked it up at 4-1 in the 3rd, so it's not the entire match).

I wonder how much connors has been able to teach roddick so far..i think roddick just needs to fine tune and polish his tennis more, become more gracefull and skillfull with his strokes, and keep improving on his net game and tactis in general..
